Paradigm Treatment Expands to Serve Young Adults in San Rafael, CA

Paradigm Treatment, a short-term residential treatment program for teens and young adults focused on assessment and stabilization, is expanding their programming to offer quality mental health treatment to a larger population. Paradigm’s goal is to provide lasting efficacy, empowering their clients to build and hone the skills needed to lead meaningful, productive lives. To that end, Paradigm will be opening a new young adult residential mental health treatment center this June in San Rafael, CA, helping to meet the mental health needs of this underserved population. The new site is currently accepting applications for young adults, 18-26, experiencing moderate to severe mental health issues.
Paradigm’s newest location, on a private estate 20 miles north of San Francisco, is a refuge, conducive to rest and reflection, surrounded by the stunning seascapes of Marin County. The center is licensed for 6 clients, affording an optimal staff-to-client ratio that ensures the needs of all residents are met. The San Rafael program is Joint Commission accredited and currently in-network with insurance providers MHN, Anthem BC/BS, and Kaiser allowing more families to take advantage of the intensive and individualized care.
Per Paradigm CEO Dustin Wagner, “A key focus for us is to increase access to treatment among young adults 18-26, as traditionally this group has been underserved. The historical assumption has been that transition and upheaval takes place in the teen years and ends before young adulthood. However, today’s young adults find themselves in an equally challenging position and state of flux. As they continue to evolve from adolescence into adulthood, with the additional burden of mental health issues, managing the mounting pressures of impending adulthood becomes overwhelming. This is why we like to use the term ‘emerging adult’, coined in 2000 by psychologist Jeffrey Arnett. We are really serving emerging adults, and with this new location in San Rafael, we are helping to narrow the accessibility gap.”
Skilled medical, clinical, and psychological staff are committed to supporting each client, and from the very minute a client enters the program they are assigned a team that is specially assembled to meet their personal needs and goals. Our focus is on helping clients build meaningful skills to handle whatever comes their way after they complete the program.
