Research supports therapeutic interventions that let a child learn and replicate skills in a setting that most closely reflects reality. Rather than a dormitory or institutional setting, Alpine Academy students live in homes intended to create a family-style setting.

The typical student at Alpine Academy often faces severe anxiety and depression, making it hard to succeed at home, school, and with friends. Or the child may have experienced trauma and struggle to express overwhelming emotions.   Your child may internalize their pain, with some using self-harm or suicidal behaviors as coping methods.

🏡🏡 Two 30+ acre Alpine Academy campuses

- one for birth-assigned female teenagers and the other one for birth-assigned males -are located in a peaceful farming community nestled at the base of a spectacular mountain range with views of the Great Salt Lake. Both Alpine Academy campuses are just 30 minutes from the Salt Lake City International Airport.

Each Alpine Academy campus is a residential treatment center, but neither looks like it. They do not look like private schools, but they are.

Each Alpine Academy campus looks like a neighborhood of beautiful upscale homes surrounded by crop fields, vegetable gardens, and livestock. This environment provides a safe and peaceful community for students to heal, learn, and grow.

💬 Therapy Embedded in Daily Life

Alpine Academy incorporates intensive therapeutic services into every part of Daily Life. Psychotherapy, coupled with our skill-building model, provides an environment where students are able to make significant changes, both in their outward behavior patterns and, more importantly, in their inner thought patterns and processes. We believe in therapeutic diversity, and therefore there is no “one-size-fits-all” therapeutic approach. Clients have Equine Assisted Therapy EAGALA (Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association), attachment, DBT skills depending on the needs of the child..

🧩 Individualized Treatment Plans

Are developed for each student based on their specific needs, strengths, and personal goals. As students develop empowerment and self-determination, they also expand their ability to build and maintain healthy peer and adult relationships.

The model we use to teach these skills at home and across our campuses incorporates Social Learning Theory and is evidence-based and empirically validated.

🎓 Academic Confidence + Success:

Alpine Academy’s goal is to build academic self-esteem in each student and to prepare all students for their next academic step in life. Accredited education combined with caring teachers, small class sizes, individualized academic plans, and a robust curriculum contribute to our graduates’ educational success.. Academic self-esteem is built intentionally, not by accident here.

How much does Alpine Academy cost?

Most families pay privately. Some placements are funded by school districts (in CA) through a student's IEP, and through state adoption assistance. Each family pays differently. ☎️ Call admissions to learn more about the academic curriculum, individualized treatment planning, and the financial profile for your family.
