The Arise Society is a highly individualized, therapeutically immersive, transitional program for young adults. We use a relationship based model to positively influence and motivate students to develop social, emotional, and organizational skills in order to achieve interdependence and scholastic success. Most Arise students are enrolled at Utah Valley University. Our free choice model strives to replicate a normal college experience in order to organically assess and address each student's unique challenges. Students live in apartments with one roommate in an apartment complex that is located directly across the street from Utah Valley University. Students participate in weekly individual therapy as well as, weekly group therapy. We partner with Cedar Psychiatry to conduct bi-weekly psychiatry services on site. A wide range of social activities are offered on a daily basis, with robust individual mentor support.
Mentors develop a collaborative relationship with students and their support system. The Arise Society not only connects mentors with students in one-on-one relationships, but also establishes a culture and community where students can meet others with similar interests and goals. Students describe Arise as a "therapeutic fraternity" where they can get the support they need and want, without the stigma of feeling like they are in a program.
