Located just 15 minutes south of the Asheville Airport in Western North Carolina, Beacon Transitions is an independently owned and operated residential facility specializing in working with young adults diagnosed with neurodivergent conditions. Diagnoses like: Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD - Level 1 / Asperger's Syndrome), other learning disabilities, ADHD, Non-Verbal Learning Disability, Executive Functioning Deficits, Social Communication Disorder, Depression, and Anxiety.
Our clients are striving to live a life of creative independence. We are a small program that serves up to 14 total residents at a time. Beacon Transitions operates with rolling enrollment to better fit our client's needs. All of the residents have come to us with emerging skills in all areas of independence but need coaching and guidance from a support system that can help them become fully engaged. Beacon is intended to be the last residential program our clients attend. Through our step-down structure, Beacon ensures our clients can transition from assessment and intervention programs like Wilderness Therapy and inpatient hospitalizations to living independently with a plan for supports, often within 12 months.
Beacon Transitions quantifies results by creating a vision for success with each resident upon intake and helping them determine which path they take to get there, generally either educational or vocational. All of our residents have the opportunity to attend either community college and/or acquire gainful employment during their time at Beacon.

Upon exiting Beacon, clients demonstrate strides toward their personal goals, with the least amount of support necessary to be successful in their independence. Contact admissions to learn more about how the clinical underpinnings of the program, like neurofeedback and experiential psychotherapy, support long-term growth, and explore how our multidisciplinary team of dedicated vocational Coordinators, family therapists, and on-staff registered behavior technicians (RBTs) work with the five pillars. Beacon operates on an intentionally small scale to offer true individualized attention.
