Calo Programs operates four distinct options on a 200-acre campus in Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri. As the nation's first residential treatment and transitional living program designed specifically for adopted youth and young adults in transition. There are four different age groups at Calo preteens (ages 9-13), teens (ages 14-17), and young adults (ages 17-20).
Calo uses a relational-based treatment approach that creates change from the inside out—heart first, behavior second. The programs are uniquely equipped to help students and families impacted by developmental trauma and attachment issues, helping youth develop a healthy sense of self.
Calo Programs residential programs offer specialized interventions including adventure therapy, canine therapy with over 40 Golden Retrievers, and neurofeedback therapy. Academic support is prioritized throughout, helping students balance the demands of life, play, and school. The family system is also involved through personalized workshops.
