🏡 Since 1947, Cardinal Cushing Centers (non-profit) has been a comprehensive, intergenerational community hub supporting individuals with complex neurodiverse and developmental needs, helping them reach their academic, vocational, and personal potential.

By combining their educational and academic with their lifelong community programming, their support framework covers a much wider scope:

🏫🏠AGE RANGE: Instead of just treating pre-teens and young adults, Cushing provides a lifetime continuum of care. Their approved day schools support children starting at age 6, and the approved residential school work with students up to age 22, and the Adult Services continue to support individuals through adulthood and into senior age.

DIAGNOSES & PROFILES SUPPORTED: The programs at Cardinal Cushing Center are designed for students and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, non-verbal learning disabilities (NLD), pervasive developmental disabilities (PDD), speech/language disorders, and those with complex behavioral or clinical needs.

MULTI-CAMPUS ACCESSIBILITY: Beyond the historic main campus in Hanover, MA, their network extends across the South Shore region—including the St. Coletta Day School, Life Opportunities Unlimited (LOU), and South Shore Industries (SSI) in Braintree, MA—ensuring families have local day and community support services.

ACADEMIC, RESIDENTIAL, & VIRTUAL SAFETY FRAMEWORKS: Student programs operate year-round, implementing strict IEP execution with a 4:1 student-to-teacher ratio. Campus living relies on a secure "line-of-sight" safety model, while adult programs shift the focus toward community-based day support (CBDS), shared living arrangements, and adult family care.

🏪REAL-WORLD VOCATIONAL TRAINING: There are three different Public Businesses. Transitioning students and adults develop genuine employment skills directly within the community. Cushing operates its own public-facing businesses, including the Cushing Café & Greenhouse, the Unique Boutique, and the Take 2 Thrift Shop, giving participants hands-on training in hospitality, customer service, and retail operations.

🔶🔶🔶There is a wide variety of services depending on the age of the young person. Please call admissions or visit the website for more information.
