Elevate Academy, part of The Heritage Community in Provo, Utah, is a specialized residential treatment program designed to help struggling and clinically complex teenagers heal and thrive. Rather than focusing on neurodiversity like its sister program (Spark Academy), Elevate is primarily focused on addressing traumatic stress and the behaviors that stem from it, such as adolescents who have disconnected from their families, friends, and healthy interests.

Elevate's treatment approach is heavily rooted in the ARC Framework (Attachment, Regulation, and Competency), which is designed to heal trauma from the inside out:

  • Attachment: Because many of these students arrive feeling disconnected or unsafe, the first step is building trust. Dedicated "Caregivers" (staff) focus on attunement, consistent routines, and building warm, relationship-based connections to create a foundation of safety.

  • Regulation: Once a student feels safe, the focus shifts to emotional regulation. Staff work alongside the teens to "co-regulate"—modeling calm and deliberate responses rather than instinctual fight-or-flight reactions—until the student learns how to self-regulate their own emotions.

Competency: As students begin to feel grounded and secure in their identities, they move into the competency phase. Here, they develop advanced life skills, improve their executive functioning, re-engage in academics, and work on repairing family relationships to prepare for a successful life after graduation.
