Founded in 1993 as a non-profit organization, Hopewell Therapeutic Farm Community is a residential mental health facility set on a 325-acre working farm in Middlefield, Ohio.

🧭 The program serves adults 18 and older living with serious mental illnesses, including schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, bipolar disorder, major depression, and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). Built around a steady daily rhythm, residential living, and a supportive rural environment, Hopewell gives residents the space and structure they need to settle in, manage symptoms, and focus on long-term recovery.

The community’s holistic treatment model balances top-tier clinical care with the restorative benefits of nature, meaningful daily work, and shared community living. Residents receive comprehensive clinical support—including psychiatry, medication management, individual and group counseling, family therapy, and transition services—integrated with evidence-based modalities such as CBT, DBT skills, ACT, EMDR, ecotherapy, art and music therapies, and exposure and response prevention (ERP). Alongside clinical care, residents participate in work crews, animal care, gardening, wellness instruction, and practical life-skills training, empowering them to build self-reliance and transition toward independent living.

Hopewell Therapeutic Farm Community has a calm, practical feel: meaningful farm work, a therapeutic community, and a structured day that includes meals, therapy, exercise, and vocational activity. Hopewell Therapeutic Farm Community also works with residents and families on discharge planning and next-step living, which makes it a strong fit for adults who want residential mental health care with a real bridge toward more independent living.
