"Mare’s House will officially close on 4/4/26. While difficult, this decision ultimately comes down to sustainability, there simply weren’t enough referrals each year to support a gender-specific women’s program long term.
The program operated exceptionally well, supported by some of the most dedicated, loyal, and hardworking people I’ve had the privilege of working with in my career. Because of that, Mare’s House achieved meaningful outcomes, with many women going on to live fulfilled, stable lives.
I want to personally thank everyone who has been part of the Mare’s House journey since our first female enrollment in 2021. I’ve learned a great deal about the unique challenges women face in SUD and mental health treatment, and it remains an underserved population.
Thank you to everyone who supported us along the way, whether you were an alumni family who trusted us with your daughter, a consultant or referent who connected families to our program, or someone who advocated for Mare’s House in your own way. My mom, Mary Ellen (Mare), would have been incredibly proud of the work that was done and the lives that were impacted over these past few years.
If you have any questions or need additional details, please feel free to reach out to me, Scott Deleau, Emily Brumley, Cannon Kristofferson, or Dr. Kianfar-Jagoda. The Grounds Recovery, in partnership with Cirrus Behavioral Health (CBH), remains fully operational and continues to thrive."
