Noble Mentors is a Colorado-based therapeutic mentoring organization providing community-based, in-home, and virtual mentoring for preteens, teens, and young adults (ages 9-35). Founded in 2020 by James Farmer, who has mentored young people for 15 years, Noble Mentors has served more than 300 families and works alongside therapists, educational consultants, and treatment programs as the real-world practice partner between sessions and after discharge.
What we do. Mentoring is not therapy and never replaces it. A trained mentor works with the young person where life actually happens: on trails, in climbing gyms, at the kitchen table, on campus, or on video anywhere in the U.S. Together they build routines, executive function, social confidence, healthy habits, and the skills of independent living, and they practice the plan the treatment team has set. Services include therapeutic mentoring, executive function coaching, academic and career coaching, parent coaching, live-in mentoring, sober coaching and recovery support, and step-down/aftercare support for young people returning from residential, wilderness, or IOP/PHP programs.
Who we help. ADHD and executive function challenges, failure to launch and emerging adulthood, autism and neurodivergence, anxiety and depression, social anxiety and isolation, OCD, gaming and screen addiction, sports betting, substance use recovery, grief and loss, and physical health and wellness.
How it works. Each young person is matched by personality and interests with a mentor from our team; the family approves the match, interviews are unlimited, and if it is not a fit there is no charge. Every mentor is personally trained by James Farmer and works under ongoing supervision with clinical oversight from our Clinical Director, Joseph DeNicholas, LCSW, who consults on cases and leads mentor training. Our approach follows the 7 Stages of Mentorship, a developmental map from Intention and Connection through Action and Reflection toward Service and lasting Presence.
For referring professionals. We coordinate with the treating clinician or consultant, keep the family's existing care in place, and report back. First sessions typically begin within a week of the referral; there is no waitlist. Referral information: noblementors.com/mentoring-care-provider/.
