Spark Academy (part of the Heritage Community) serves neurodiverse teenagers ages 13 to 18 who struggle to navigate a world not built for their unique needs. The program views the overwhelming challenges these adolescents face in traditional environments as a form of complex trauma, which often leaves them feeling isolated or dysregulated.

✨✨✨Students are admitted to develop essential self-regulation and executive functioning skills in an environment where they feel understood. Their primary interventions focus on attunement and healthy attachment; using a low 1:3 caregiver-to-student ratio, staff actively "co-regulate" with the teens in real time until students can self-regulate. Once grounded, students practice life skills through a specialized continuum of care that gradually mimics real life. The program also utilizes project-based interactive academics and relies heavily on creative, experiential interventions like equestrian, adventure, and performing arts therapy—rather than standard talk therapy.

✨The Heritage Community campus has been continuously licensed by the Utah State Department of Health and Human Services since 1984. For its clinical and residential standard of care, it holds the prestigious Joint Commission accreditation, which it has maintained for over 25 years.
