Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch, located in Billings, Montana, is the kind of place families turn to when a child or teen needs more support than home, school, or community-based care can provide. The nonprofit works with youth facing trauma, anxiety, depression, autism spectrum needs, attention or impulse-control challenges, and substance use. Residential care serves ages 11–18, with statewide support also available for younger children and teens.

Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch offers a full continuum of care, including:

🤝Community-Based Care

🤝 Therapeutic Group Home Care in Boulder, Billings, Helena, and Great Falls, including Day Treatment and Specialized Treatment for Sexual Behavior Problems (Boulder campus only)

🤝 Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch, located in Billings Residential Care (The Ranch, Billings), Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF)

This higher level of care at Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch keeps the day grounded in structure, relationships, and steady routines. Youth in the Ranch setting live in same-sex lodges, attend year-round school through Yellowstone Academy, and participate in therapy, recreation, enrichment, and hands-on life-skills work.

Families stay involved through regular phone calls, visits, weekly therapy, and monthly treatment reviews, so nobody is left guessing about what is happening next. Working collaboratively with each teen's parents, Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch helps families determine the most appropriate level of care and the best path forward—whether that involves community-based services, a therapeutic group home, or residential treatment at the Ranch.

Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch is accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA), and academic accreditation from Cognia. State License: Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services for mental health, chemical dependency, child placement, residential treatment, and therapeutic group home care.
