Black Mountain Academy is a therapeutic boarding school supporting adolescent males ages 13-17 with level 1 autism or who struggle with social relationships, anxiety, and traditional academic approaches. The homelike environment of our boarding school provides students with the therapeutic and academic structure they need to reach their full potential, with the added excitement of adventure and the wilderness. Every component of the Black Mountain Academy program is designed to provide enriching experiences for students in the community, outdoors, and at home on a daily basis. Our trained and licensed therapists work with staff and students to co-create experiences that help build social skills, the ability to access friendship, and improve executive function, emotional regulation, and life skills. At Black Mountain Academy, we help young men thrive through an integrated clinical approach that provides a combination of academic, social, adventure, and vocational activities.
