Minnesota Life College (MLC) is a life-long learning program for individuals on the autism spectrum and with other learning differences who want to lead an independent life within their community. Our client's profiles fall into three different categories- 1. Students for whom MLC will be their primary college experience, and who will focus on vocational and independent living skills training 2. Students who plan to attend college after attending MLC (or who have attended prior to enrolling) 3. Students who take some college courses concurrently while attending MLC Our purpose is to teach Real Skills for Real Life™ in an experiential learning setting and be a transition guide for the many changes that can take place throughout one’s adult life. We educate individuals with Real Skills for Real Life™ so they may achieve *sustained independent living *rewarding employment *financial security *personal growth *responsible citizenship. Each of our three programs Community Living Program (CLP) , Undergraduate Program (UG), or Summer Internship Program (SIP) adapt, evaluate, and continuously improve our methods, recognizing and valuing each individual’s skills, contributions, and dreams. We champion our students and graduates, carry their successes into the world, and collaborate with others in service of our vision. Our founder 20 years ago created this program for her child to grow, learn and live and that mission has guided us forward for each of our clients.
