Here at Vista, we believe that relationships make a significant impact on a teen's ability to work through behavioral and emotional difficulties. Our clinicians work with reduced caseloads of only 7-8 students each to allow for increased one-on-one interaction throughout the week. Due to this strong relational model of therapy, our students' average length of stay is generally shorter than industry standards - between 7 and 10 months. Our typical student may be working on some of the following in his therapy: * Depression * Anxiety * Substance abuse * Attachment difficulties * Executive functioning difficulties * ADHD * Trauma * Oppositional Defiant Disorder Vista is a Cognitive Behavioral program that also utilizes Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) therapy to help students to identify patterns in their lives that are destructive to their important relationships and to themselves. An individualized approach to the 12 Steps as well as other helpful recovery models allows each student to confront substance abuse openly and confidently with our drug and alcohol counselors. Weekly recreational outings off-campus include a wide variety of activities that will allow your son to develop new skill sets and to nurture a higher degree of self-confidence in trying new things. Some of these are: * Hiking * Fly-fishing * Golf * Indoor rock-climbing * Snowboarding and skiing * Mountain biking Each of our students is enrolled in our private on-site high school Stansbury Academy which provides strong competitive academics through an independent pace model.
