ANASAZI Foundation established in 1988 nonprofit, licensed, and accredited outdoor behavioral healthcare provider that is an affordable wilderness therapy program. Designed for adolescents ages 12 – 17 years old and their families. ANASAZI is a 49-day residential program with a relationship based approach to wilderness therapy. We require the parents to go through their own process while their child is enrolled.

METHODS USED
🌿 Positive psychology and mindfulness
🌿 Free of force, levels, manipulation, restriction, or behavioral-modification techniques
🌿 Nature provides boundaries and opportunities for self-discovery
🌿Emphasis on principles from ANASAZI’s book “The Seven Paths”

CLINICAL OVERSIGHT
🌿 Licensed clinicians oversee the entire journey ~ Weekly individual, group, and family sessions ~ Progress towards milestones in individualized treatment plans

MEDICAL STAFF
🌿 Includes a psychiatrist & registered nurses that monitors nutrition, medications, and overall health of participants

STAFF
🌿 Highly trained & kindhearted while committing to a lifestyle that allows them to be honest and positive examples & have identical gear, food, and clothing with participants

PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT ~
🌿 Preventive and interventional training for parents
🌿 “Walking of the Heart” seminar and workbook
🌿 Weekly video calls with their child’s therapist
🌿 Family Camp for parents to join the child for the final three days

AREAS OF FOCUS
🌿 Specializing in assisting 12- 17 year olds (& the family) that could be struggling with depression, anxiety, family conflict, substance use, technology addictions, and other emotional or behavioral concerns.

POST-PROGRAM SUPPORT & OUTCOMES
🌿 7 weeks of remote coaching for parents post-program
🌿 Alumni team stays in contact for one year post-discharge
🌿 Approximately 90% of YoungWalkers and parents report significantly strengthened relationships.
🌿 About 80% of those admitted by parents go home instead of longer-term residential care.
🌿 Because ANASAZI is a 501(c)(3) charity we are focused on being an affordable service to all families in need.
