🌊The Cove at Momentum Recovery 🌊

The Cove is Momentum Recovery’s gender-specific extended care and sober living initiative designed for young women struggling with substance use and mental health obstacles. Located near the beaches of Wilmington, NC, The Cove operates on the belief that fostering connections serves as a potent remedy for addiction. The more we connect our residents with themselves, the surroundings, and each other, the greater their prospects for sustained recovery.

To nurture these connections, we deliver a comprehensive continuum of care, comprising 4 phases of treatment.

☀️ Dock: Primary Addiction & Mental Health Treatment

Here, young women will find a quiet refuge for healing and self-discovery as they begin to explore their addiction, trauma, and any co-occurring disorders. Our female clinical experts use a trauma-informed and empathetic approach to create a customized treatment plan for each individual, including a mix of group therapy, one-on-one therapy, family therapy, experiential activities, and more.

⚓️ Anchor: Extended Care

In Phase Two, community members continue to practice the modalities of treatment that they have found to be effective in Phase One. During this phase they are gradually given more autonomy to venture out into the world. Many of our clients choose to enroll in school or get a job as they continue to build a rich and fulfilling life without drugs and alcohol or mental health struggles. While transitioning to this new life, members of The Cove community benefit from the continued support of their care team and peers.

⛴️ Harbor: Sober Living

Recovery thrives in community. As the reality of a better life in recovery comes into focus, young women living in our warm and welcoming sober home receive the community, support, and stability a young woman needs in early recovery. Clients can tend to the garden in the backyard, catch up on their shows with their roommates in the spacious living room, or pitch in with dinner prep. On good days and bad days, our women receive all the support and community they need to continue their journey of healing.

🧭 Compass: Change Management

The final phase of The Cove’s program can last weeks or months, depending on each client’s needs. While charting a new course and living on their own, clients can depend on the continued guidance and support they need to stay on track. That means continued one-on-one therapy sessions and regular drug tests, as well as immersion in the recovery community. All group sessions in the Dock and Anchor programs are open for all community members as well, and attendance at experiential activities is encouraged.

During all phases of The Cove’s continuum of care, young women receive:

✨ Ongoing Therapy with Clinicians Specialized in Working with Young Adults
💫 Ongoing Psychiatric & Addiction Medication Management
✨ Personalized Case Management
💫 Local Recovery Resources
✨ Family Programming
💫 Adventure-Based Therapy
✨ Educational Support
💫 Financial Skills
✨ Vocational Support
💫 Nutritional Support

Addiction is a disease with deep and tangled roots. True recovery is only possible when you take the time to identify and heal the mental health issues and trauma that are buried under the symptoms of addiction. That’s why The Cove is proud to be a dual-diagnosis addiction treatment program.
