Pure Life celebrates 10 years of operations with their AEE Accreditation renewal. Operating Pure Life Adventure in a foreign country like Costa Rica is complex, and accreditation is an important part of operating a safe and quality program.

“AEE Accreditation is a costly and time-consuming process, but we believe it is more than worth it to ensure that we are operating according to the most up-to-date standards in our field so that we can provide the best, safest, and most impactful programming for our students,” said Allan Capp, owner and program director.  

The Association for Experiential Education (AEE) is the premier accrediting body for outdoor programs. Since 1994, AEE has offered the most comprehensive standards for common practices in adventure and outdoor behavioral healthcare programs. The AEE Accreditation Program is a standards-based evaluation process by objective, independent reviewers and has become the industry-accepted professional evaluation level for experiential and adventure programs. 

AEE assigns two people to visit facilities to review applicants’ processes, activities, and programs. These individuals also perform a thorough, third-party review of all manuals, training materials, and policies surrounding every aspect of the Pure Life program. This independent review aims to ensure that all requirements are met for accreditation purposes. AEE Accreditation contributes to the professionalization of the field and the well-being of participants and program personnel worldwide. Once accredited, a program is required to renew every three years.  Pure Life was first accredited in 2019 and has just completed its second round of accreditation. 

Founder Andrew Taylor originally came to Costa Rica as an adventure guide in 2003 and, after ten years of experience, opened Pure Life Adventure. Pure Life Adventure is now celebrating 10 years of operations.
