ROOTs Celebrates 1st Anniversary

ROOTs opened on June 14th 2021 and is excited to be celebrating its one-year anniversary. The team has been humbled by the experience as well as the trust given to them by families, therapeutic educational consultants, and program colleagues alike.
In a year’s time, the ROOTs community hosted 5 family workshops, and 6 parent intensives and celebrated 16 clients as they followed their journey beyond ROOTs. Volunteering with the Summit County Community Garden, skiing at Park City Mountain Resort and Woodward, paddle boarding and sailing on the Jordanelle Reservoir, climbing at Momentum, and hiking and mountain biking the Park City trails are only a small snapshot of what the year has held. This year Park City and the Wasatch Mountains have offered ROOTs a treasured space of growth and healing.
ROOTs was founded with the intention to be a place of healing for the whole community. Executive Director and Founder Kami Black, LCSW shares “Within a healthy community, we are all given space to show up as our true selves. When the entire community of clients, families, and team members are committed to their own growth we have the opportunity to access one of our most important strengths as a program.” The origin of ROOTs was many years in the making and the past year has embedded the fundamental core of the program into an incredible foundation.
