Shortridge Academy Celebrates May Graduation

On Friday, May 26th, Shortridge Academy staff, students, and families celebrated ten program graduates and one high school graduate in a formal cap and gown ceremony on its newly, beautifully green 300+acre campus. During the ceremony, graduates were recognized for how they embraced the Positive Youth Development philosophy, engaging with staff to co-create experiences that matched their interests and needs, taking ownership of the school and community culture, and supporting and mentoring new Academy and Ridge students.
Of the high school graduates, college acceptances include Colorado State University, University of Redlands, and Loyola Marymount University. Of the program graduates, school acceptances include Dublin School, Winchendon School, Franklin Academy, Marvelwood School, Kimball Union Academy, Kents Hill School, and White Mountain School.
“Graduation is very special to all of us in the Shortridge community,” says Head of School, Mik Oyler. “It’s a time to celebrate the journeys, successes, and bright futures of our graduates and their families. It is also exciting as it represents the opportunity to welcome new students in the coming weeks and for students to step into new leadership roles.”
