Solstice West Introduces Recreational Therapy, Led by Caitlyn Belcher

Solstice West is delighted to announce the newest addition to its team, Caitlyn Belcher, TRS, CTRS, who joins as a Recreational Therapist. Caitlyn’s arrival brings a fresh wave of enthusiasm and creativity to the program offerings, enhancing the overall therapeutic experience for students. The introduction of recreational therapy at Solstice West represents an exciting and innovative addition to its comprehensive therapeutic offerings.
“I love working with teens. They are so energetic and passionate about what they do with their free time,” says Recreational Therapist Caitlyn Blecher. “Helping them discover and develop what is meaningful to them and what they like to do is something I am very passionate about.”
Caitlyn’s background and qualifications make her a valuable asset to the Solstice West team. She holds a degree in Therapeutic Recreation from the University of Utah and, following graduation, had an internship at the National Ability Center. Caitlyn has been a Utah resident for five years, living in Tennessee before making Utah her home to pursue her academic journey.
Caitlyn has demonstrated her commitment to working with children and adolescents in various roles throughout her career. Her experience includes serving as a lifeguard, a swim instructor, and a childcare worker. She has also played a key role in developing and implementing camp activities tailored for young individuals. One of Caitlyn’s initial collaborations with the Solstice West team involved planning an exciting camping trip scheduled for October, aligning perfectly with the program’s holistic approach to therapy.
“We are thrilled to welcome Caitlyn to our team and introduce recreational therapy as we expand therapeutic offerings to our students,” says Executive Director Jane Peterson. “Her passion for therapeutic recreation and her dedication to enhancing the well-being of young individuals align perfectly with our mission at Solstice West. We are confident that her energy, creativity, and expertise will have a profound positive impact on our students.”
Caitlyn’s arrival at Solstice West marks a significant milestone in the program’s ongoing commitment to expanding programming and providing innovative and comprehensive therapeutic services to students.
