Something Fishy Trails Momentum

Recently Trails Momentum students participated in the annual event known as Trout Day. Every year, staff and students look forward to this spring day when fresh trout are brought in to replenish Momentum’s onsite lake. This year about 500 pounds were delivered and then gently transported by students into their new habitat.
Josh Rood, Outdoor Adventure Educator, explains how this experience ties in with the programming at Trails Momentum: “Our students get to witness the cycle of life play out and then contemplate their place in that cycle. Being able to connect with nature on that level and being able to provide students the opportunity, as well as ample space and time to reflect, is what Trails Momentum & wilderness therapy are all about.”
With so many life lessons being learned, it was also a great opportunity to cool off with some cold water from the lake, have some laughs, and take pride in a positive impact on our shared environment.
At Trails Momentum, young adults are guided on a journey of self-discovery where they develop self-concept and are empowered to make the transition into independence.
