Located on 220 acres near Boise, Idaho, Cherry Gulch is a small private, clinically-oriented, therapeutic residential treatment center for boys in 5th through 9th grade. Our picturesque ranch setting lends itself to our staff and students as we work together to provide early behavior and academic intervention. Our goal is to help our students realize their full potential and foster healing and joy! We strive to build confidence and grow our students’ resiliency zones as they navigate their Hero’s Journey. Cherry Gulch combines an ideal environment with research-based treatment programs. Our clinical expertise and academic resources allow us to serve students who haven’t experienced success in other programs, schools, or at home. Cherry Gulch is seeking a Special Education Director to lead our dynamic team of teachers in bringing support, education, and success to our wonderful students.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the academic team as they prepare and provide educational lessons in core and elective classes.
  • Works with all departments to evaluate and plan current and future programming.
  • Works with the school admissions team to provide marketing material and pertinent information to potential clients and referral sources.
  • Brings expertise and coaching to the Academic team as they respond to student and parent needs.
  • Provides classroom support as needed.
  • Ensures that academic operations meet school contractual and accreditation requirements.
  • Ensures that student IEP interventions and objectives are being met.

Qualifications

  • Must have current Administrator and Special Education endorsements.
  • Minimum (2) years’ experience in administration
  • Strong clinical and interpersonal skills, ability to lead and direct the work of others, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Intermediate-level PC skills required.
  • Master’s Degree in Education or related field required
