The PIVOTPoint Program Cohort 1

The PIVOTPoint Program is a condensed, 6-week experiential intervention anchored in constant practical application opportunities. Now in its final week of Cohort 1, it is proving to be quite a success. “We have leveraged our comprehensive curriculum,” says PIVOTPoint founder Matt Nannis, “which is built upon the four pillars of relationship-to-self; relationship-to-peers; relationship-to-community; and community engagement. This is a way to practice the practical interpersonal life skills that are covered in experiential learning and incorporate them in real-time, in a real setting. We knew this blend of wilderness interventions and regular opportunities to practice skills and strategies in everyday living would be an effective mechanism of change. Our facilitators guide clients towards learning and integrating powerful skills – with regular immersion in the day-to-day world where these skills are of the most value! This is how to build and implement healthy habits. With every moment a therapeutic opportunity rooted in our clients’ core values, we are providing an effective approach to re-engage with whatever comes next. And with our supportive housing partners, we are constantly in communication to assure that the progress and skills cultivated in the woods and on the rivers are being practiced in a community-based living setting.” With PIVOTPoint’s Cohort 1 wrapping up this Friday, they are looking forward to Cohort 2, beginning 4/24/23.
