Cherokee Creek Boys School is seeking an experienced dynamic team player to provide guidance and therapy for boys, ages 10-15, at our therapeutic boarding school in Westminster SC.

A successful candidate will join a vital team of professionals who are dedicated to helping boys who are struggling emotionally academically and or socially to discover what is real and true about themselves and the world around them. Our campus provides a warm caring family environment for young boys to feel safe and nurtured.

Therapists report directly to our Clinical Director and are part of a therapeutic team that assures the growth and healing of our students.

This position prefers a person with experience working at a therapeutic program. They must have the emotional and physical safety of our students as their primary concern at all times. Our successful candidate must have an unconditional positive regard for children and other members of the team; the ability to address behavior issues in a way that promotes learning, personal success and mutual respect; and strong healthy personal boundaries.

Responsibilities

Working individually and in groups with the students
Leading family therapy with students and their families
Leading conflict resolution and de-escalating emotionally charged situations
Communicating compassionately and effectively with parents
Serving as a positive PR representative for the school and its mission

Qualifications

MA / MS in counseling social work psychology education or related field
Licensed Counselor or Social Worker
A minimum of 3 years experience and thorough understanding of a residential school setting and/or similar therapeutic programming is prefered
CPI First Aid CPR certifications a plus

Cherokee Creek Boys School (CCBS) is an academically-accredited, state-licensed therapeutic boarding school for boys, ages 10-15. Our students have a “softer profile” with challenges including, but not limited to: ADD/ADHD; depression; anxiety; oppositional behavior; learning style differences; high functioning Autism; academic frustration/failure; issues related to divorce, adoption, abandonment, technoology use, trauma and grief and loss.
