Ocean Recovery is a reliable Newport Beach, California addiction treatment facility where foundations are laid for lasting recovery. Our licensed and accredited residential facilities specialize in the treatment of substance use disorders and underlying co-occurring issues. Each client is provided a personalized treatment plan carefully developed by our multidisciplinary team.

The ideal candidate for this position enjoys a team-oriented approach and direct client care.

The therapist provides effective individual, group and family clinical therapy programming in compliance with state regulations and expectations.


Duties/responsibilities include:

  • Provide therapy services and clinical interventions that meets the core issues that are sensitive to the individualize needs of the clients, client groups and families.
  • Provide therapy services based in the application of integrative treatment modalities of mental health and/or addictive disorders.
  • Facilitate education groups, monitor behaviors in the milieu (house), and act as a contributing team member.
  • Participate as a member of and in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team to develop services and assist with and support achievement of positive results for clients.
  • Collaborate with Program Directors and Compliance/Quality Assurance Management to develop and maintain all safety policies, procedures and protocols pertaining to therapy and treatment.
  • Documentation in compliance with state regulations and insurance contracts and in the appropriate format within 24 hours of the service taking place.
  • Practice in a manner that is consistent with legal, ethical and safety standards as delineated by the organization, licensure boards and local, state and federal law.
  • Monitor for the safety of individuals and groups, providing appropriate interventions to correct potential risk for clients.
  • Attend and participate in all treatment team meetings, morning meetings, team meetings, and other scheduled trainings.
  • Participate in discharge planning.
  • Participates in the recording of documentation for client care, including screening assessments, treatment plans, clinical reports, clinical progress notes, discharge summaries.
  • Ability to demonstrate an understanding of diverse cultures and gender responsive issues and ability to incorporate needs of gender and culturally diverse groups into practice setting.
  • Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with current clients, family members, referrals sources and vendors.



  • Masters Degree, required;
  • Licensed or pre-licensed in a clinical discipline (psychologist, LCSW, LFMT, etc.)
  • Previous experience in the field of chemical dependency counseling.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA
  • Working knowledge of CARF and/or Joint Commissions accreditation standard of care
