Role Overview:
As a Therapist, you’ll play a pivotal role in providing clinical therapy services to our students. Your focus on psychosocial assessment, treatment planning, individual therapy, family therapy, parenting classes, and group therapy will create a supportive environment for growth and healing.
Training:
Your growth matters. We provide training in Employee Orientation, required professional continuing education credits, and CPR/First Aid Certification.
Responsibilities
Under the guidance of the Clinical Director, you’ll work approximately 40-50 hours per week, dedicating 75% of your time to providing clinical services to your clients. Your responsibilities include:
- Conducting thorough psychosocial assessments gathering data to understand clients’ personal, developmental, and emotional history.
- Crafting initial and master treatment plans for each client, outlining goals, strategies, and discharge plans.
- Offering individual therapy sessions twice weekly for each assigned client and crisis assessment when required.
- Conducting weekly family therapy sessions and in-person sessions during parental visits.
- Facilitating psycho-educational or process group therapy sessions as assigned.
- Maintaining communication with referral sources providing updates and incident reports.
- Writing reports, recommendations, and discharge summaries.
- Participating in treatment planning and clinical staffing meetings.
- Coordinating parent weekend visits and student home visits.
- Responding to crises during weekends and holidays as assigned.
- Fostering relationships with parents, referral agencies, and program stakeholders.
- Demonstrating sound judgment and emotional stability, upholding the mission and protocols of Uinta Academy.
- Engaging in academy-wide social activities with students and staff.
- Observing equine therapy sessions and processing observations with students.
- Collaborating with the team to research, plan, and coordinate parent seminar topics and activities.
- Ensuring consistent public relations and communication.
- Handling other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
We’re seeking an applicant with:
- A minimum of a master’s degree in clinical social work, clinical psychology, licensed professional counseling, marriage and family therapy, or a related field.
- Knowledge of individual, group, and family therapy intervention techniques for adolescents and their families.
- Basic understanding of educational, psychological, family, and social work systems in a clinical context.
- Skills in treatment plan development, charting, progress notes, and documentation.
- Ability to pass a background criminal investigation and obtain CPR/First Aid certification.
