Trails Carolina Strengthens its Adolescent Boys Program with the Addition of Travis Wireback, LCSW

Travis Wireback has worked in the industry supporting adolescents in crisis for the past decade. Prior to working at Trails Carolina, Travis honed his therapeutic skills in the public school system, community, therapeutic boarding school, and wilderness settings. He has continued to cultivate his skills during the several years with Trails Carolina, helping to bring new ideas and techniques to the program. One of his biggest passions is supporting the learning and emotional growth of teens with their families. Travis is moving from the Preteen group to the Adolescent group and will help cover even more critical ground with students.
“When I entered this field about 10 years ago, this was the population I connected with most easily, most consistently, and enjoyed working with the most. So I’m really excited to be working with this age group again, and having the opportunity to meet a group of adolescent boys who are at a stage in their development where they’re capable of making really big changes, and setting themselves up for a healthier future” says Travis Wireback, LCSW.
One of Travis’ main focuses is on the successful transition of students back home with family programming. This happens alongside the work that he does with parents, giving them practice with skills parallel to the ones that their child is working on. This gives them a common language and better equips them to handle difficult times that happen as the teens navigate the world and relationships with their newfound skills and techniques.
