Trails Momentum Continues to Grow and Welcomes New Primary Therapist, Matteo Bessone LCSWA, MSW, MS

Trails Momentum, a young adult wilderness therapy program, is thrilled to announce the addition of Matteo Bessone, LCSWA, MSW, MS as the new Primary Therapist to the clinical team. The program is continuing to expand and improve to offer the best services to its students.
Bessone has an extensive background in wilderness therapy, with over 300 days working in the field as a Wilderness Field Instructor. He has also authored multiple papers on Wilderness Therapy for the Outdoor Behavioral Healthcare Council and has presented at the Wilderness Therapy Symposium.
Bessone brings a wealth of experience to the team. He has a dual Master of Social Work and Master of Science degree in Adventure Therapy from the University of New Hampshire. While he was a research assistant at the University of New Hampshire, he worked with and studied under Mike Gass, Ph.D, a professor in the Outdoor Education Program in the Department of Kinesiology. He also has a background in family work as a Family Intervention Specialist.

Trails Momentum is an adventure-based outdoor program for young adults ages 18-25 who are struggling to launch themselves into adulthood. Students are guided on a journey of self-discovery where they develop self-concept and are empowered to make the transition into independence. Adventure programming, clinical services, family involvement, college coursework, and social skill development are seamlessly interwoven to maximize the transference of important life skills and address clinical and behavioral challenges.
