Blue Ridge Therapeutic Wilderness offers a comprehensive, individualized, and clinical assessment driven wilderness therapy program for troubled teens, 13-18 years old. While at Blue Ridge, students rediscover the pathways to their strengths and resilience through primitive living in nature while supported by experienced field instructors, skilled licensed therapists, and a healthy peer culture and community. Nestled in the foothills of Northeast Georgia’s Blue Ridge Mountains, the Blue Ridge approach supports teens to reconnect with the best version of themselves. Blue Ridge provides teens with a chance to heal and change within the wilderness, while simultaneously providing families with their own resources, growth work, experience, and community, in addition to information/assessment in the field. Whole Family Support is integral to healing. Blue Ridge Therapeutic Wilderness, formerly Second Nature Blue Ridge, works with students and families who need an individualized approach to their assessment and treatment. Students tend to struggle with: Anxiety - Depression - Bipolar Disorder - Substance Abuse - Computer & Internet Addictions - Academic Failure - Low Self-Esteem - ADHD - Executive Functioning Issues - Learning Difficulties - Identity Issues - Attachment & Adoption Issues - Social Challenges - Family Conflict - Grief & Loss - Sexual Acting Out - High Functioning Autism Spectrum Disorders - Victims of Abuse
