Foothills at Red Oak Recovery is located just outside of Asheville, NC, and is a clinically dynamic adolescent program for boys, ages 13-17, that offers a residential program for the treatment of trauma, substance use, mental health issues, grief and loss, adoption, and process addictions. Foothills relational approach to evidence-based clinical practices helps support our clients and their families in wellness and recovery. This trauma-focused clinical approach includes individual and group therapy, family therapy, equine therapy, and recreation therapy. Foothills’ clinicians also facilitate therapy utilizing numerous experiential interventions, including equine therapy, ropes course facilitation, adventure activities, sports, yoga, and mindfulness. This day-to-day involvement of the clinical team helps clients integrate what they are learning about themselves into their everyday interactions. Since this real-time clinical approach takes place in a small, nurturing, home environment, the skills are easily transferable to environments beyond the program. Foothills also offers recovery management services based on the Gorski-CENAPS model of relapse presentation for clients who have experienced or are about to experience a return to use after ninety days of being in recovery. Foothills is in network with BCBS, Aetna & Humana. With other insurance providers we may be able to try for Single Case Agreements based on providers individual plan.
