Foothills at Red Oak Recovery is located just outside of Asheville, NC, and is a clinically dynamic adolescent program for boys, ages 14-17, that offers a residential program for the treatment of trauma, substance use, mental health issues, grief and loss, adoption, and process addictions.
Our relational approach to evidence-based clinical practices helps support our clients and their families in wellness and recovery. This trauma-focused clinical approach includes individual and group therapy, family therapy, equine therapy, and recreation therapy. Foothills’ clinicians also facilitate therapy utilizing numerous experiential interventions, including equine therapy, ropes course facilitation, adventure activities, sports, yoga, and mindfulness. This day-to-day involvement of the clinical team helps clients integrate what they are learning about themselves into their everyday interactions. Since this real-time clinical approach takes place in a small, nurturing, home environment, the skills are easily transferable to environments beyond the program.
Foothills takes pride in continuing the education of our clients during their time with us and provide educational support in coordination with our clients’ schools allowing them the ability to keep up with their studies as they progress through their treatment experience.
Foothills at Red Oak Recovery also offers recovery management services based on the Gorski-CENAPS model of relapse presentation for clients who have experienced or are about to experience a return to use after ninety days of being in recovery.
