Our 112-year-old non-profit program offers an environment in which care and nurture are difficult to resist. We have over 35 years’ experience using the Developmental Relational approach. By recognizing the developmental needs underlying the maladaptive behaviors and meeting those needs through intentional relationships, treatment provides a fully orchestrated approach in which every aspect of the child’s life presents an opportunity for growth and change. We embrace the whole family knowing that family participation is critical to the success of the child and family system. Nestled in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, children live in family-style houses with private bedrooms. The 40-acre grounds include an education center, playground, and hiking trails. Outdoor & community activities are incorporated into daily life such as skiing, swimming, hiking, fishing, camping, & canoeing. Our school provides individualized plans that are tailored by certified teachers to the learning styles & abilities of each student. Technology assistance such as SMART boards and Chromebooks are integrated into the classrooms. Related services include S&L, OT, PE, Bal-A-Vis-X, music, art, and social skills. Candidates for success in our program are children whose challenges may include: attachment & relationship disruptions, developmental trauma, grief & loss, social isolation and/or lack of friendships, emotional dysregulation, inappropriate boundaries, mild aggression, symptoms of ADHD, depression & anxiety, academic difficulties, along with high functioning autism spectrum, & an IQ >85.
