La Europa Academy is a residential treatment center that helps young women, ages 14 - 17, learn to manage emotions and behaviors in order to achieve their goals. La Europa combines a nurturing, home-like environment, a sophisticated clinical approach, including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Expressive Therapies, and a challenging academic curriculum to develop and practice effective emotional coping skills. Students find themselves through creative expression, which is used both therapeutically and academically, to help our students build confidence and create a healthy identity (LGBTQ+). Our students are challenged with: * anxiety * depression * emotional dysregulation * disordered eating * identity issues * school refusal * identity concerns specific to gender or sexual orientation * self-harming behaviors * suicidal ideation * substance use * trauma history * attachment difficulties Our therapy includes: * therapists fully trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) use of DBT interventions throughout program * family therapy and intensive multi-family therapy * art therapy * group therapy focusing on technology concerns * trauma group therapy combined with trauma-sensitive yoga * music therapy and songwriter music therapy * poetry therapy * dance/movement therapy * psychodrama * sand tray therapy * eating disorder and body image groups * EMDR and Brainspotting (BSP)
