Mental health assessment at ViewPoint is a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary process that involves Psychiatry, Clinical, Medical, Milieu, Academics and Testing. Our assessment mental health is unique because we evaluate your child’s functioning across a variety of settings which gives us a more complete picture compared to more traditional psychological assessments. Each piece of the puzzle is critical to capturing the entirety of your child which is why we typically require 6-7 weeks to initially formulate our integrative results. Assessments are provided and facilitated via psychotherapy, neuropsychological testing, classroom observations, therapeutic milieu activities and psychiatric stabilization. Adolescents at ViewPoint will receive 30 hours of weekly therapeutic programming that includes: > psychiatric care > Individual, Group, Music and family therapy > 3.5 hours of academic support > daily recreational therapy > 24-hour nursing. We conduct a verbal Multi-disciplinary Review (MDR) to discuss our initial findings with you as well as to review the neuropsychological testing and our treatment recommendations. The verbal MDR is typically scheduled at the end of your child's stay. At the conclusion of your son/daughter’s stay, you also will receive a final MDR report which more fully integrates our assessment findings derived from the multi-disciplinary team.
