Wediko School Announces New Co-Directors
The Wediko School announced today that Director Greg Stoddard has stepped down and long-time staff Toby Iselin and Betsy Oswalt will take the lead as Co-Directors.
“The team running the program is world-class,” said Stoddard. “It has been a privilege to be a part of this team – they all are the best people anywhere to carry the Wediko School forward, and I look forward to cheering on this amazing team as they continue to find and nurture greatness in young people.”
Iselin previously served as Principal of the Wediko School and will maintain responsibility for the academic portion of the program as Co-Director. Oswalt previously served as Residential Director and will be stepping up into the other Co-Director role, maintaining her responsibility for the Residential Program.
Stoddard started his career at Wediko in 1996-98 as a Summer Residential Counselor and says he “learned more in those three summers than I have since.” He served as Director for a little over five years where he led the Wediko School through a merger with the Home for Little Wanderers, the COVID-19 pandemic, a nationwide staffing shortage, and the day to day joys and challenges of running a residential treatment center.
“I’m immensely proud that through all of that, we’ve maintained excellent quality of care here; The Wediko School is better positioned than ever for a strong future for decades to come,” said Stoddard. “As much as I love my job, and would love to stay here forever, I live with my family 2 hours away from campus in another state, and five years of 4-hour-a-day commuting is my limit. I’m leaving the program in excellent hands.”
Iselin and Oswalt stepped into the Co-Director roles on June 30.
