The Weekend Residential Instructor is responsible for the supervision of the dorm, weekend activity facilitation, and guidance related to independent living and boarding school life. Weekend RIs work collaboratively with other Residential Instructors and the Residential Support staff to facilitate the individual goals of the students and to run weekend programming: adventure-based activities, community service, arts, athletics, amusement and fun! The Weekend RI acts as a mentor, role model, surrogate parent, teacher, counselor, and life skills coach in the areas of social and emotional development.
Responsibilities
Supervise dormitory at all times (outside of other assigned duties).
Plan, implement, and co-lead weekend activities
Teach transferable life skills within the dorm setting such as room organization, laundry skills, social and emotional intelligence, appropriate technology use, relationships, etc.
