WinGate Introduces Flexible Length of Stay Options for Youth and Families

WinGate, an outdoor therapy program for adolescents ages 13-17, is pleased to introduce flexible length-of-stay options for youth and families seeking healing and a new perspective on life. Rather than offering a fixed duration, two flexible paths based on the family’s therapeutic plan offer an array of resources for those seeking deeper engagement with the therapeutic process. With a commitment to personalized care, WinGate offers a restorative program tailored to meet individual needs and support the journey toward lasting well-being.
The first 49 days at WinGate are designed to help youth stabilize, uncover the roots of their struggles, and embark on the path to healing. Through clinical assessments and therapy, WinGate works with the family to create comprehensive plans for the next steps of the journey. This route empowers youth with therapeutic coping skills, self-awareness, and a reset for their nervous systems. For families seeking a more intensive approach, WinGate’s full-length 80-day program focuses on deeply engaging the whole family in the therapeutic process. This route aims for a direct reintegration of the child back into the family unit while providing ample time for experiencing the beauty of the Grand Staircase, peer relationship building, and personal and family growth.
With the intention of families reuniting after WinGate, the longer length of stay includes the opportunity for parents to visit their child in the field. Depending on the individual’s case, families also have the opportunity to try a week with their child at home during the program, with the ongoing support of staff and family coaching. This trial period shows both parents and students what else they may need to work on before successfully reintegrating back home. For many families, this option can shift what may have been a year of therapeutic treatment centers into a three-month, nature-centered reset.
Every family’s journey is unique, and the staff at WinGate are committed to providing flexible options to meet their specific needs. Offering flexible lengths of stays that fit students’ specific therapeutic needs ensures that youth and families have the time and support necessary to foster positive, lasting change and return home with newfound strength and resilience.
