Families leading their own school search now have a unique new option. Until now, the choice was doing the search themselves (high risk) or hiring a consultant to run it for them (high cost). Now they can take advantage of The (Semi-DIY) School Search Workshop at teamcrossbridge.com/school-search-workshop. It gives parents access to Crossbridge’s full search process, plus expert guidance at key intervals where they need it most.
"We kept seeing families either try to go it alone (and then call us after landing at the wrong school) or pay us for a full concierge package when they really just needed a roadmap and a few high-touch interactions," said Rebekah Jordan, M.Ed., founder of Crossbridge Consulting. "With The (Semi-DIY) School Search Workshop, we're filling a critical gap in the market."
The workshop has eight self-paced modules, a workbook, video lessons, and guides to financial aid, testing, campus visits, special education accommodations, and more. Families also get weekly office hours and monthly guest expert sessions. Optional one-on-one support is available for essay revision, interview prep, and a School List Review. Jordan built the workshop over three years with Kimberly Keebler Dresner, Ed.D., drawing on their decades of experience across independent, public, charter, and boarding schools.
Families with students stepping down from a therapeutic program can begin the search while their child is still enrolled, using Crossbridge’s Discover Framework© and partnering with their treatment team and existing consultant. (The workshop does not help families find therapeutic placement.)
The workshop is available to schools, therapeutic programs, and consultants interested in white-labeling the content for their own families. To learn more about bringing The (Semi-DIY) School Search Workshop in-house, contact programs@teamcrossbridge.com.
About Crossbridge Consulting:
Crossbridge Consulting is an independent therapeutic and educational consulting firm for families whose child (or young adult) needs something different. We help families across the country place children, teens, and young adults (roughly ages 4 to 30) when mental health, behavioral, or learning challenges make the path forward hard to see. Our work spans therapeutic placement (wilderness therapy, residential treatment, therapeutic boarding schools, and young adult transition programs), day and boarding school search, and IEP and 504 advocacy.
