At Engage Young Adult Transitions, the clinical team continues to deepen its level of care by incorporating Inference-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT) into its work with young adults struggling with OCD. This addition reflects Engage’s ongoing commitment to advancing the sophistication of its clinical services and expanding the range of evidence-informed treatment approaches available within its community.
I-CBT provides a clear framework for understanding OCD through the concept of inferential confusion, in which individuals become drawn into imagined scenarios and begin to lose trust in their direct experience. The model supports young adults in stepping out of doubt-driven reasoning, reconnecting with reality-based thinking, and reducing the need for compulsions. Integrating this approach strengthens Engage’s ability to deliver more targeted, nuanced, and clinically grounded support for young adults navigating OCD.
