Hired Power Strengthens Community Ties & Expands National Reach at Gridiron Defense Symposium

Hired Power recently participated as the sole behavioral health sponsor at the Gridiron Defense Symposium, a national conference focused on the intersection of military service and professional football. The event brought together leaders from the United States Armed Forces, the National Football League, healthcare professionals, and performance experts to address the unique mental, physical, and transitional challenges faced by service members and elite athletes. By sponsoring and attending this specialized gathering, Hired Power reinforced its commitment to supporting high-performing populations that often experience trauma, stress, injury, and complex life transitions.

With more than 20 years of experience serving individuals navigating substance use and mental health challenges, Hired Power offers a model of care uniquely suited to these communities. The organization provides discreet, one-on-one support services that prioritize confidentiality, structure, and real-world integration. According to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, approximately 14 percent of United States veterans experience a substance use disorder annually, while up to 20 percent of veterans from recent conflicts experience post-traumatic stress disorder. Among former National Football League players, one in three believes they may have CTE, and 25 percent report recent prescription opioid use. These findings underscore the importance of specialized, individualized support systems designed for those accustomed to high levels of performance and responsibility

Through its presence at the Gridiron Defense Symposium, Hired Power continues to expand its reach and deepen its role within a broader national network of providers, leaders, and advocates. The organization’s services, which include intervention, safe passage transport, personal recovery assistants, case management, and clinical care planning through CarePathways, are designed to meet individuals where they are while supporting long-term resilience and stability. Engagement in events of this caliber reflects Hired Power’s ongoing investment in collaboration, education, and community-building across sectors that share a commitment to mental fitness and recovery.
