Onward Transitions in S. Portland, Maine is an independent, owner-operated transition living program designed for young adults, located just two hours north of Boston. We support a maximum of 18 motivated 18- 30-year-olds who are learning to live independently.

The participants live in their own apartments throughout the city, which they choose based on their personal preferences and resources. Onward Transitions focuses on sustainable independent living, helping you become more autonomous. Our clinical and coaching teams (with a 1:2 staff-to-student ratio) provide structure and accountability, working towards goals you've set using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Unlike living in "program housing" or with roommates, you'll experience real-life accountability. Onward Transitions is a community. We offer multiple weekly individual and group therapy sessions, family work, conducted by our four full-time, on-site therapists who specialize in ACT. The typical program length is 12 months. If you do not have a car ~ no problem. OT has a corporate UBER account for transportation to and from our Pine House. It is located in South Portland and open for 2 daily meals, drop-in visits, snacks, and socializing with other members and staff. We also offer regular apartment consultations and 24-hour on-call services.
