Uinta Academy is thrilled to announce the newest addition to their clinical team, Emma Hoi

Uinta Academy is thrilled to announce the newest addition to their clinical team, Emma Hoisington, CSW, who transitioned into clinical work at Uinta in the fall of 2023. In addition to her direct client work, Emma serves as the facilitator of the grief and loss group and takes on the critical role of Uinta’s Research Coordinator. Her efforts in this capacity are indispensable in assessing our program's efficacy and in the ongoing pursuit to refine best practice methods for our demographic.

Emma brings with her a deep understanding of trauma-informed care, behavioral coaching, and a specialization in grief and loss, substance use disorders, brain spotting, and equine, as well as other animal-assisted therapies. Her holistic approach is tailored to address the behavioral, emotional, and relational struggles of Uinta clients, meeting them exactly where they are in their personal journeys.

Emma completed her Bachelor's degree in Social Work at Brigham Young University-Idaho, where she worked with the Department of Health and Wellness of Idaho on their community mental health team. It was in this position that Emma developed skills in behavioral and independent living coaching and case management. After completing her bachelor’s, Emma moved to Logan, Utah, and began working at Uinta Academy in 2022. Emma quickly learned the Teaching-Family Model and worked as a direct care staff and shift lead while completing her Master’s Degree in Social Work.

Emma grew up in the Pacific Northwest, where she quickly learned to love all things outdoors. While living there, she would spend her summers riding horses, backpacking, and exploring national and state parks. From a young age, Emma loved helping people. She trained guide dogs for the blind, built a women’s shelter in Bolivia, and participated in local service projects. Her passion, experience, and innovative approach to therapy make her a valuable asset to our team and an inspiration to our clients.
