Live Strong House has introduced a dynamic music program designed to support emotional regulation, creative expression, and therapeutic growth. The program offers students the opportunity to engage in guided music sessions where they learn to play instruments, write lyrics, and participate in recording original music. These experiences serve as powerful outlets for processing emotions and building confidence in a supportive, structured environment.
In addition to collaborative music creation, each student at Live Strong House receives a personal MP3 player preloaded with a selection of clean, inspiring music. These players are accessible at all times, providing students with a safe and consistent emotional outlet. Whether used to calm anxiety, lift spirits, or maintain focus, the music selections are intentionally chosen to support therapeutic goals and promote mental wellness.
By combining therapeutic practices with music, the program empowers students to explore their identities, connect with peers, and develop healthy ways to express themselves. Recently, at Live Strong House's most recent "Parent Summit" (a biannual event in which all parents of current students are invited to come for a series of workshops with the clinical team), a few students were given the opportunity to share their talents and perform songs they had written and composed while at Live Strong. It was a favorite of the event. By integrating music into its clinical framework, Live Strong House not only enhances emotional growth but also helps students build resilience, self-awareness, and joy—key elements in long-term success.
